GRUNAU METALS SHOP CAPABILITIES
The Grunau Metals fabrication shop is capable of performing the following
materials processing functions:
Cutting
Shearing carbon steel up to 1/2" thick x 10' long
Shearing stainless steel up to 3/8” thick x 8' long
Flame cutting carbon steel up to 4” thick
Plasma cutting stainless steel up to 1” thick
Plasma burning stainless steel up to 1” thick
Pendinghaus angle shear up to 6” wide x 6” tall x 1/2"
thick (angle)
Band saw capacity of 17” deep x 22” tall
Band saw capacity of 17” deep x 15” tall at 45°
Burn table has 6' wide x 12' long bed
Drilling
Hole punching up to 1-1/2” in diameter on Fabriline punches
Plasma cut drilling with a minimum 1” diameter
Bending
Carbon steel up to 1/2” thick x 10' long
Carbon steel up to 1” thick on lengths less than 2'
Stainless steel up to 1/2” thick x 8' long
Pipe bending of 1-1/4” or 1-1/2” diameter up to 135o on
a 4” radius and a schedule 40 thickness
Rolling
Carbon steel and stainless steel with a minimum diameter of 14”
x 6' wide x 3/8” thick
Welding
Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and cast iron
Blasting
Shot blasting with an 8' diameter turntable
Shot blasting with a skew pipe blast machine that can accommodate
up to a 6” pipe size
Standard sand blasting with the ability to blast pipe interiors with
a minimum 8” diameter
Painting
Airless and spray gun
Interior painting of pipes with a minimum 8”diameter
In addition, our shop's five bays are equipped with a 25-ton
overhead crane, three 10-ton overhead cranes and a 2-ton overhead
crane.
