Grunau Company received a Mayoral Proclamation recognition award from Oak Creek, WI mayor Daniel Bukiewicz for the company’s 100 year anniversary at the City of Oak Creek Common Council meeting October 6, 2020.
“Grunau has been a staple of Oak Creek for many years, and few companies make the century mark as Grunau has done. Not only has it made the century mark, but grown both locally and nationally. They are recognized throughout the country as one of the best mechanical contractors in the land, and we have them right here in Oak Creek,” said Bukiewicz. “If you look at the skyline of Milwaukee, it can’t be ignored – their fingerprints are all over it. Northwestern Mutual Life… Schlitz Park, although not a park of Oak Creek, was a blighted property until Gary Grunau personally transformed it, and changed the course of downtown Milwaukee.”
Grunau President Bill Ball accepted the proclamation on behalf of the company.
“Oak Creek is our corporate headquarters, so it is special to have our 100 year anniversary here. Not only do we have many employees who work in Oak Creek, we have many who live in the city and have children attending the schools here,” said Ball. “We are very proud to call Oak Creek home. Thank you to the mayor and city council for the recognition, and we look forward to many more years continue to serving and investing in this community.”
Grunau’s headquarters have been located in the city of Oak Creek since 1996. The shop buildings have been at the same location for decades.
“Grunau is an exceptional, dynamic company that does great things and are a great partner. We are glad to have you in Oak Creek,” said Bukiewicz.
