Grunau Company was named the 2019 Business of the Year by the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce (SSCC) at an award ceremony February 20, 2020. The award was given by Sarah Anderson, Executive Director of the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony was preceded with performances by the Oak Creek High School Jazz Band, and the Oak Creek High School Show Choir. The keynote speakers were Carma Labs President Paul Woelbing and Chief Operating Officer Rich Simonson on the Story of Carmex.
Jeff Hintze, Grunau Company Chief Financial Officer, accepted the award on behalf of the
company, “We are truly appreciative of this award. We are supported by many of you as our customers and clients. We are humbled and thankful to the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce for all that they have done.”
The South Suburban Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards celebrates the achievements businesses and individuals who contributed to the growth and prosperity of the South Suburban area community. Special considerations were given for businesses that displayed staying power with a substantiated history as an established business. Another accomplishment was the indication of continued growth with increased sales or unit volume. Response to adversity was another accomplishment, where Grunau provided examples of problems faced and methods used to solve them. The last consideration was contributions to aid community-oriented projects using personal time and other resources.
Grunau Company also received a State of Wisconsin Citation of Commendation with signed congratulations from Wisconsin State Senator Chris Larson, State Senator David Craig, State Representative Jessie Rodriguez, and State Representative Ken Skowronski on behalf of the Wisconsin State Legislature.
Additionally, Grunau received a Mayoral Proclamation from Daniel J. Bukiewciz, Major of the City of Oak Creek, with congratulations for being the winner of the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce 2019 Business of the Year award.
